Nurture and Natter - FREE drop in talk sessions

Our staff are trained Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAider®) and are parents themselves! This session is a chance to chat about anything that's been on your mind over the week.

Don't worry if you have nothing to say, you can come along and just sit and breathe for an hour! We understand, parenting is hard sometimes or you can get stuck in!

There's lots to do at Hakeford Woods for little ones and adults. Theres a mud kitchen, river, woodland, crafting, cooking and more!

Wear weather suitable clothing as although there is shelter it does get muddy!

– To reach the site from Barnstaple you need to head east from Barnstaple on Bear Street towards Goodleigh and Bratton Fleming.

– Continue on the main road, through Snapper for approximately four miles until you see the Chelfham viaduct on your right.

– Turn right under the viaduct and continue for approximately half a mile. Our entrance is a forestry track opposite Hakeford Farm just after the left-hand bend. (“Hakeford Woods” on the gate post)

– Drive approximately 50m down the track and you can park in the parking / log stacking area on the right side of the track.

Once you’ve parked in the car park, you can either open the gate or walk around the side of it. Hakeford Woods is buggy-friendly, so please feel free to bring a buggy if you wish.Follow the track until you reach the white be polo - Parked. Continue past the white polo and take the next turning on your right. I will have some chalkboards up along the way to help guide you.Walk along the path towards the platform area. There may be a car parked there, and you’ll also see a container with wood beside it. Simply walk around the car if needed and continue onto the beautiful platform carry on until you reach the Roundhouse, where you’ll find us. Once you see the Roundhouse, you’ve arrived!
