About this Event
Bird and nature enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us on April 11th for an exciting morning of birding at the Novato Baylands (Hamilton Wetlands)! Anyone is welcome to join, including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders.
We will meet at 9 AM at Point Blue's Novato Baylands native plant nursery at 737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA. We’ll then walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 11 AM looking and listening for as many species of birds as we can find, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants. Some of the birds we might see include spectacular flocks of sandpipers, herons and egrets, migratory ducks, American Avocets, Black-necked Stilts, and Snowy Plovers.
Spotting scopes, bird books, and brochures will be provided, along with snacks and access to a bathroom. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, binoculars, sun protection, layers, and comfortable walking shoes.
Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there!
