About this Event
When: Saturday, May 2, 9am-11:30am
Organizer: Point Blue Conservation Science STRAW staff, Alycia Matz and Sandra Sublette
Meeting Location: Novato Baylands Native Plant Nursery, 737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA 94949
Please join Point Blue Conservation Science staff for a morning of art, stewardship, and community-building at the Novato Baylands! This event is free and open to attendees ages 6+ (with adult supervision).
The Novato Baylands is a 2,600-acre wetland restoration site where Point Blue conducts community-based restoration activities such as propagating native plants, weeding, seed collecting, planting, and bird monitoring.
The focus of our morning will include learning how to nature journal, weeding around native plants, and connecting with the land and each other.
No prior art or weeding experience is required! Point Blue will provide nature journaling materials such as paper, colored pencils, and watercolor paints, but attendees are also welcome to bring their own art supplies. Point Blue will provide gloves, weeding tools, snacks, water, and other beverages. A bathroom is available onsite. We recommend all attendees bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection (hat, layers, sunscreen), long pants, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes.
We strongly recommend filling a waiver out in advance; please do so via this form.
