Nokx Majozi: The Food Behind the Pages Supper Club

As part of our Food Behind the Pages series, we’re thrilled to be welcoming ​​Nokx Majozi to the Food & Drink Studio to share recipes from her new book, The South African Cookbook.

Nokx Majozi discovered her passion for cooking at a young age, inspired by her parents in their Durban kitchen. Determined to pursue a career few in her family knew, she trained for three years before moving to the US to cook South African food in Florida, eventually settling in London nearly 20 years ago. As Head Pie Maker and Senior Chef at Holborn Dining Rooms, she brought the flavours of her home to its kitchens. Now part of the team at Fallow, Nokx was named one of Jay Rayner’s Rising Stars in 2022 and has appeared on Sunday Brunch, Saturday with James Martin and in leading food publications.

From hearty boerewors rolls to bobotie and melktert, The South African Cookbook features 90 everyday recipes celebrating the diverse flavours of South African cooking. Drawing on dishes passed down through her family alongside modern interpretations, Nokx shares her most‑loved recipes for home cooks everywhere. From braai and street food to pastries and desserts, you can expect to find bold flavours that delight the senses.

Books will be available to purchase on the evening and will be signed by the author with a personalised message (unable to allow books purchased outside of Fortnum and Mason).

Please arrive from 6.30pm for a 6.50pm start.

Seating will be communal and pre-allocated.
