Newcomers Circle
About this Event
At The Centre for Human Connections, our mission is to bring people together through vibrant, interactive, and entertaining social workshops.
Whether you recently moved here or have lived here for years; came from another country, province, or city within British Columbia, you are invited to gather with other newcomers and share your stories—with all the good and the bad—about starting a new life in Victoria. The workshop facilitator has a multicultural background and was once a newcomer too in this country, and lived in three provinces. So, she knows a few things about the topic! In this workshop, we welcome diversity; we celebrate multiculturalism, and we generously offer our experience and tips to help others thrive in their new community. Optional: prepare an anecdote or bring a small item—such as a picture or object—to tell us what it means to you regarding your journey as a newcomer. This is a warm and safe space for everyone, an ideal opportunity to make new connections!
