Dust off your best waist coats and cloaks! Leave the worries of the Big Folk behind and step into an intimate, cozy world of simple pleasures. We are gathering a small community of Tolkien fans together within the beautiful garden grounds of Mary’s Farm for an evening of rustic feasting, acoustic music, and playful lore in celebration of Hobbit Day.
Space is very limited to keep this a truly close-knit, magical autumn gathering.
🍂 The Evening's Journey:
- The Harvest Feast: Gather at the garden tables for a hearty, comforting menu of warm harvest stew, sweet corn, fresh bread, and a homemade apple crisp for dessert. Gluten-free and vegan options included for the elven among you.
- A Quest of Riddles: Test your wit against your fellow halflings in an interactive riddle quest throughout the woods for your share of the Lonely Mountain Loot.
- Live Celtic Band: After supper, let your spirits lift to the lively, warm sounds of a traditional Celtic band playing live amidst the autumn garden bounty.
- Creative Crafts & Keepsakes: Partake in hands-on crafting Hobbit treasures, and enjoy professional photography captures throughout the day to preserve your memories.
- The Micro-Market & Silent Auction: Browse a Hobbit-sized, curated circle of local artisan vendors. We will also host a silent auction, with all proceeds directly benefiting a local Creative Writing Scholarship and Mary’s Farm and Sanctuary.
🌿 Important Scrolls for the Journey
- Grown Halflings, Elves, Dwarves, and Humans Only (Ages 19+): This gathering is strictly for adult halflings, elves, and rangers who have reached their nineteenth summer. Please leave the little folk, toddlers, and infants tucked safely in their hobbit-holes at home.
- A Sober Shire (No Alcohol or Cannabis): To maintain the peaceful, idyllic atmosphere of the farm, this is an entirely substance-free gathering. No outside bottles, barrels, or pipe-W**d are permitted past the gate. Fear not—festive, seasonal zero-proof cordials and magical autumn froths will be available for purchase to keep our cups full!
- No Outside Beasts Allowed: Because Mary’s Farm is a quiet sanctuary for rescued creatures, no outside pets or traveling animal companions are permitted on the grounds. We must keep our resident llamas, goats, and farm friends safe from outside excitement.
- The Garden Path & Terrain: Our feast is hosted entirely under the open sky within the farm garden. The path consists of rustic, uneven grass, raw dirt, and gravel paths. Because of these wild, natural grounds, the garden layout is not fully navigable for wheeled mobility devices.
- Footwear & Finery: Leave your delicate slippers at home! Sturdy, comfortable boots or walking shoes are highly required for traversing the farm ground. While finest waistcoats, cloaks, and floral crowns are enthusiastically encouraged, your everyday traveling clothes are entirely welcome too.

In our corner of the Shire, we hold a deep respect for the great web of life—from the smallest crawling beetle in the garden soil to the majestic, ancient trees overhead. While you are visiting our sanctuary, we kindly ask that you tread lightly and mind your impact on the soil, plants, and critters. Our golden rule here is simple: “Do No Harm” to any living thing.
Mind the Local Beasts & Kin at the Gate
Please be aware that our main lane is a bustling crossroads! You are highly likely to encounter wandering goats, friendly llamas, farm hounds, or small folk crossing the path. When steering your wagons and vehicles through the property, please navigate at a slow, gentle, and mindful pace to ensure every creature, great and small, stays entirely safe.
Navigating the King's Road (Avoiding the Traffic)
The roads leading to the farm can be quite unpredictable, filled with delays or modern-day road construction that would frustrate even the most patient wizard. If you are journeying our way during peak travel hours, we highly recommend avoiding the main highway bottlenecks. Consider taking the scenic, quieter back way through Millstream for a much more peaceful voyage!
Share Your Wagon (Car Pooling Preferred)
As any wise wizard knows, grand adventures are best undertaken in groups! Parking space at the farm is quite cozy and limited. We highly encourage gathering your fellow travelers and carpooling together to save space.
