This full-day workshop can help you take the first steps and will guide you through the 'essentials' of starting your own business!

Delivered in partnership with The British Business Bank and our start-up support specialists this is an opportunity not to be missed.

• Starting my own business - what makes a successful business? Do I have the skills, enthusiasm and passion?
• Choosing the right business structure affects how much tax you pay, raising funds, how much paper work is needed etc. So choosing the right balance of legal protections and benefits is key.
• Creating a business model, mission and vision, the importance of strategy (business, technology, sales and marketing), capacity and capability.
• What is a cashflow? How does it work? How can I fund my start up business?
• Who are my customers? Where are they? The basics of marketing and market research?
• Support available through the Shropshire Growth Hub

Q: Is this event free?

A: Yes, this event is FREE for businesses based in the Shropshire including Telford & Wrekin

Q: What if I can't attend?

A: If you are unable to attend, we kindly request 48 hours' notice. Please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite to allow others to take your place.

Q: What if I am based outside of Shropshire and want to attend?

A: If you are based outside of the Shropshire area and wish to attend, please contact the Shropshire Growth Hub via the event listing. They will provide you with further assistance and guidance. (Please note bookings from outside of this area cannot be accepted and will automatically be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding)

Q: Is there parking available?

A: Yes, parking is available at the venue.

Terms and Conditions of Booking

This event is fully funded and free to eligible businesses to attend. We appreciate that sometimes there are good reasons why businesses are unable to attend workshops, however if you are no longer able to turn up, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite.

We require 48 hours cancellation notice prior to the event (in order for us to offer your space to another business)

Please note that if you do not attend without letting us know, we reserve the right to decline your bookings for future sessions.

Photographs

Photographs and/or video may be taken at the event. By taking part in the event you grant the event organisers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for publicity or other purposes. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications.
