Our resident MC Danny McLoughlin introducing double headliners Ben Norris and Darren Harriott.Ben Norris has been performing comedy since 1993 and has developed an incredibly relaxed stage persona with an innate ability to improvise as well as deliver sharply crafted material. A regular favourite act and MC at London's famous 'Comedy Store' and part of the Tuesday night 'Cutting Edge' topical comedy team. Regular appearances on 'Mock the Week' (BBC), 'Never mind the Buzzcocks' (BBC), 'The Comedy Store' (Paramount). Ben also flexed his acting skills in a radio play called 'The last minutes' which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in February 2014, developed by 'The Comedian's Theatre Company'. In 2013 Ben toured as Ed Byrne's support act including a show at 'The Apollo', Hammersmith. He has written and performed three solo shows at The Edinburgh Festival: 'Sitting room only' , 'Mr Ambiguousness' and 'Benny on the loose'. He is the only father of triplets on the UK comedy circuit and Martin Freeman's cousin!
Darren Harriott is a Double Edinburgh Award nominee who's TV appearances include, Dancing on Ice, co-host of Love Island: Aftersun, Britain’s Best Takeaway with Sara Cox, British as Folk, host of Live at the Apollo and Dog Ate My Homework, team captain on four series of Guessable and series regular on Don’t Hate the Playaz.
Darren’s 2023 Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Roadman‘ received **** from Mail on Sunday, The Skinny, EdFest Magazine and was named ‘Pick of the Fringe’ by The Guardian and The Evening Standard.
He regularly co-hosts the comedy night, You Dress Funny, with Rachel Fairburn, a show where comedians have to perform in outrageous costumes.
Originally from Birmingham, and now living in London, before getting into comedy he was a security guard for over five years. His debut Edinburgh show Defiant transferred to The Melbourne Festival and The Soho Theatre, he toured the UK in 2018 with Visceral, and in 2019/20 with Good Heart Yute.
Darren is a self confessed fitness junkie who is regularly in the gym, he loves fashion, and Kanye West (his chosen specialist subject in Celebrity Mastermind). He is a keen sports fan with an encyclopedic knowledge of Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts plus a love of the Worlds Strongest Man competitions.
Resident MC Danny McLoughlin has the sharp wit & material, likeable persona and strong stage presence that have seen him become a much sought after act in his short time as a stand up. A finalist in the Chortle Student Comedian of The Year in 2008, Danny went on to perform as part of the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show during Edinburgh Festival 2009. He also supported Al Pitcher on his UK Tour and is booked by some of the UK's biggest gigs and promoters.
