New Roots, Ancient Lands: An Evening of Herefordshire History in Stories and Song
To where the hunting herons hide,
Or watching the wild horses run,
We’ll stay on Hergest until the day is done.’
Joseph Emmett, author and singer-songwriter, presents an evening of stories and songs celebrating the fascinating history and landscape of our beautiful county of Herefordshire.
With the help of special musical guests The Herefordshire Collective, he introduces the people and places he discovered writing his book, New Roots, Ancient Lands: Walking Through Herefordshire’s History, which saw him exploring the county on foot in company with, among others, Vikings, farmers, cidermakers and children to get a sense of what makes a place home, and how, if at all, that has changed through time.
From the ice age to the present day, Herefordshire’s past inspires and illuminates a rich tapestry of stories – join Joseph and friends for a fascinating evening’s entertainment.
