Nature in the City Community Picnic
About this Event
Join us for food, festivities, and special guests, plus an invigorating walk to discover the natural areas of McLaren Park.
Who is invited?
You! We want our supporters, clients, volunteers, and partners to enjoy time together. And feel free to bring a guest (with RSVP). We also welcome folks who are interested in learning more about Nature in the City's work and impacts.
Program:
- 12:00-2:00 pm: Join us at the picnic site for food and drinks.
- 1:00 - 2:00 pm: Welcoming words and special guests
- 2:00 - 3:30 pm: Optional walk in nearby nature
Special Guests:
Daniel Choi, Park Service Manager for McLaren Park, will talk about the past and future of McLaren Park and other parks in the southeast side of the city.

Meeting Location:
Meet at the Redwod Group Picnic Area A (West). See map pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CxFzBQ8wum1oUoDN9
Parking and Transportation:
- Parking is abundant all along John F Shelley Drive near the picnic site
- The Muni 29, 44, 52, and 54 busses all drop off within a 10-15 minute walk from the picnic area
This will be a bike friendly event!
Nature in the City Will Provide:
- A picnic spread including from the grill, both meat and vegetarian
- Beer & wine
- Non-alcoholic beverages
- A great program with special guests and walks
Guests:
- Family/household members, friends, and guests are welcome (with RSVP)
- Friends and guests are encouraged but not required to become NTC Supporters!
