  The 100 Islands, 100% Renewable event explores the pathway toward a fully electrified, resilient, and sustainable island future powered by renewable energy. The forum brings together island leaders, policymakers, scientists, renewable-energy experts, investors, philanthropists, conservation organizations, and local communities to examine how islands can accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels and build energy systems based entirely on clean, locally available renewable resources.

  At the heart of the discussion is the 100x100 campaign — 100 Islands, 100% Renewable — an initiative launched with the ambition of inspiring 100 islands to commit to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2020. Building on this vision, the event will explore the first results from Saint Kitts and Nevis where GTI is applying the 100% RES Initiative in cooperation with UNDP and the EU Commission to build a roadmap for the next generation of renewable-energy deployment, electrification, energy storage, smart grids, and sustainable infrastructure.Islands are uniquely positioned to demonstrate how the energy transition can transform entire communities.
  Moving toward 100% renewable energy can reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, strengthen energy security, lower emissions, support local economies, and create more resilient communities. Full electrification can extend this transformation across transportation, buildings, water systems, and other sectors, enabling islands to move toward integrated, efficient, and increasingly fossil-free energy systems.By connecting the 100x100 vision with today's rapidly evolving clean-energy technologies and island sustainability strategies, the forum aims to inspire new commitments, partnerships, and investment. The ultimate objective is to demonstrate that islands can become living laboratories and global models for a 100% renewable, fully electrified, climate-resilient future.
