What is a water penny? What does a baby dragonfly look like? After reading Creek Critters by Jennifer Keats Curtis, we will take a short walk to Jackson Creek. Come dressed with footwear for creekstomping and we will provide additional supplies to explore the creek as citizen scientists. We will answer some of the previous questions and determine the health of the creek. Only children need to register, but an adult must check in and stay. Bring your own water.
Nature Break is our signature program designed for families with children ages 5-10. Occurring during spring, fall, and summer breaks from school, children are introduced to a nature topic through a picture book and then spend the rest of the time immersed in nature and exploring the topic. Programs meet at various parks around the city.
Registration is required and closes 7/5.
$2/in-city, $3/non-city
Ages 5-10 register, their adults attend at no additional charge.
Program meets at the Young Pavillion
