Native Orchid Conservation Presentation

Presented by Rich Ackerman, President of Broward Native Orchids, a non-profit organization affiliated with Fairchild’s Million Orchid Project. Learn about Florida's native orchids and the consistent conservation efforts by Fairchild's Million Orchid Project to propagate and place one million native orchids into their historical range in South and Southwest Florida.

Native Orchid Installation at Lakes Park Nature Loop

Rich Ackerman leads teams from Lakes Park, Lee County Parks and Recreation and UF/IFAS Extension into the slough to install several native orchids.

Please come prepared for a hot, humid weather. Wear clothes that can get wet and dirty: long pants, long sleeves (quick-dry material is recommended), sturdy shoes, sun protectant, and mosquito repellent. Hat and gloves are optional.

Please bring refreshing drink. Water is provided.
