NAFA-DC Filmmaking Kickoff

Dear DC Marathi Community,

Each of us has a story we’ve always wanted to tell — a dream we once carried but had to set aside as life took its course.
Many of us grew up wanting to become cricketers, actors, singers, writers, or serve in the armed forces. Instead, we pursued stable careers as engineers, doctors, accountants, and more. But those dreams never really disappeared. Now is the time to revisit them.

The NAFA DC Chapter has revamped its roadmap to unlock the creative potential of Marathi talent in the DMV area. We’re creating an inclusive, supportive space where everyone gets an equal opportunity to learn, create, and contribute to filmmaking — no prior experience required.
Whether you want to write, act, direct, shoot, edit, design, or compose — this is your chance to turn passion into practice.

• *Aspiring Writers:* We won’t just teach theory — you’ll develop and workshop your own stories for actual film projects. Every story matters. We’ll help you tell yours better.
• *Aspiring Actors:* Receive acting training and real opportunities to perform in films we produce.
• *Aspiring Directors:* Get hands-on training and the chance to direct your own short film.
• *And more*: Cinematography, editing, production design, music, sound, costume & makeup — all roles are open.

We believe talent is everywhere. What matters is giving it a platform and the right guidance.
