Myelinated Tarot - Gemini Season

Myelinated Tarot takes place each time the Sun shifts astrological seasons. It is a yoga-inspired, dance-inspired, meditative gathering to examine tarot's archetypes and how they might support us somatically. It is neither a fortune-telling circle nor a divinatory classroom, but a generative space for radical somatic reclamation.

Previous experience with tarot, yoga, dance, or meditation is NOT necessary! All “levels” of practice are welcome. Bring your curiosity and your own inherent wisdom.

Our facilitator is a trained and experienced teacher of neuro-informed, trauma-sensitive embodiment practices including yoga asana, breathwork, and meditation. She is also an agnostic witch, whose offerings are grounded in the elements, and informed by lunar cycles and tarot pulls.

Participants will be invited into the wisdom of their own unique explorations, and deeply encouraged to honor their body's requests above anything the facilitator offers. In this space, you are the only expert on your experience. The only non-optional practices here are mindful presence, and kindness to self and others.

Comfortable clothing and a water receptacle are encouraged. Yoga mats or cushions are helpful: we will have some available and you are welcome to bring your own. Paper journals are invited. Attendees are welcome to bring an item for the group altar during our time together. We will ask that all phones and digital devices be entirely turned off and put away before entering the space; please be prepared for this.

This gathering is a benefit of membership in The Somatic Coven.
Others are welcome to register on a donation basis,
with a suggested sliding scale of $11 to $22.

The Somatic Coven holds tarot as an ever-evolving, genderless, nonhierarchical system of conversing with archetypes or/and divinity as we individually relate to them. We use decks that reflect queer, feminist, antiracist, anticapitalist values. If this feels at all uncomfortable or controversial for you, our space is likely not a good fit for you at this time.
