Explore the creative potential of multiblock woodcut printing in this hands-on masterclass with Merlyn Chesterman.

Designed for printmakers who already have a basic understanding of offsetting and printing with multiple layers, this course delves into the many possibilities that emerge from working with multiple blocks. Discover how even a simple combination of two blocks can produce an extraordinary range of images through thoughtful experimentation.

You'll explore printing with opaque and translucent inks, creating unexpected colour combinations, printing light colours over dark, offsetting or rotating blocks, and other techniques that open up endless opportunities for creative play and discovery. This workshop is all about pushing the boundaries of relief printmaking and encouraging experimentation in a supportive studio environment.

Studio Kind is situated at the far end of and within Barnstaple Pannier Market. During out of hours, the market can be accessed by a small wooden door from Butchers Row.

Nearest Car parks are the Cattle Market car park or Barnstaple Central. There is disabled parking on Boutport Street.

The bus station is a 5-minute walk away and the train station a 15-minute walk or bus journey of 10 minutes.

Our venue is wheelchair friendly and accessible to all. There are accessible toilets right next door.
