About this Event
Free Library of Philadelphia and MovieJawn present Nicholas Ray's 1954 western classic, Johnny Guitar with special guest, Joan Crawford's grandson, Casey LaLonde.
Join us on April 25th at Parkway Central Branch Library beginning at noon for a meet and greet with Casey and MovieJawn staff. At 1pm, join us in the Montgomery Auditorium for a special presentation of Johnny Guitar with an introduction from Casey and a Q&A to follow moderated by MovieJawn's Editor in Chief, Rosalie Kicks. Casey will also be sharing a rare collection of Joan Crawford's home movies compliments of the Crawford estate. Description from Ambler Theater: These home movies (ca. 1940–42) present that which one rarely gets to see: a larger-than-life personality at home, unadorned, just being herself — and often in color, at a time when her feature films were black and white. Crawford filmed most of the home movies herself; when she is on camera, it is unclear who is behind it.

About Casey LaLonde:
Casey LaLonde is the grandson of legendary Hollywood actress Joan Crawford.
It is Casey's life mission to preserve his grandmother's legacy as one of Hollywood's most enduring stars through public film screenings and presentations of Joan's intimate home movies at venues in the United States and Canada.
Casey has appeared at the TCM Film Festival, the TCM Cruise, the UCLA FIlm & Television Archive, the Hollywood Heritage Museum, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Philadelphia Free Library, The Ambler Theater, The Fox Theatre in Toronto, Canada, and many other venues.
He also has an active Joan Crawford Instagram account, dedicated to educating Hollywood fans about her life: @joancrawfordestate
About Rosalie Kicks:
The Old Sport, Rosalie Kicks is the Editor in Chief of MovieJawn, a quarterly print publication and website established in 2015. She hails from Philadelphia where she dabbles in filmmaking experiments. When she isn't watching motion pictures she can be found toiling away in her laboratory dissecting films of Tinseltown's past for her podcast, Cinematic Crypt.

Johnny Guitar (1954) is an American Western film directed by Nicholas Ray (Rebel Without a Cause) and stars Joan Crawford, Sterling Hayden, Mercedes McCambridge, Ernest Borgnine, and Scott Brady. A technicolor spectacle that tells the tale of a Vienna (Joan Crawford), a strong and confident saloon owner who is wrongly accused of M**der and bank robbery.
