About this Event
The Guidebook & What It Takes Film Screening at VPO North Vancouver
Join us for a special night of mountain storytelling featuring The Guidebook and What It Takes, presented by filmmaker Alexi Liotti.
Shot in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia and supported by ORTOVOX, The Guidebook follows mountaineer and guidebook author Matt Gunn as he reflects on the unintended consequences of sharing access to complex, high-risk terrain—exploring the space between hiking and mountaineering. The film features cinematography by Colm Keating and was directed by Alexi Liotti.
Paired with What It Takes, an all-women splitboarding film from The North Face—shot across BC and Patagonia, directed by Alex Clapin and with cinematography by Alexi Liotti—this film highlights resilience, progression, and what it truly takes to push into the unknown.
Members of North Shore Rescue will be in attendance for a post-screening conversation. This event aims to inspire and educate, with proceeds supporting their work. Drinks will be available.
Doors at 6:30 / Movies start at 7, followed by an intermission and a follow up Q&A w/ The filmmakers, NSR and the audience.
