On Saturday 7 February 2026, boundary-pushing electronic composer and audio-visual artist Max Cooper (UK) will transform Northcote Theatre into a fully immersive 3D world of sound and vision, as he brings his acclaimed Live 3D / AV show back to Melbourne for a one-night-only performance.
Presented by Morning After as they enter their 10th year, this special event runs from 7:30pm until midnight, promising a deeply sensory journey that blurs the lines between club night, art installation and cinematic experience.
We want to give our community something they will talk about for the next decade, Max Cooper’s 3D / AV show is that kind of experience. It is not just a gig, it is a full-body immersion in music, image and emotion. There was simply no better way to celebrate the people who have supported us all these years than to bring Max over and let him light up Northcote Theatre.
See you all on Feb 7, 2026 ❤️
💫 MAX COOPER 💫
Belfast-born, London-based Max Cooper has carved out a singular space in global electronic music as a producer, multi-disciplinary artist and former scientist, holding a PhD in computational biology while building an international reputation for his emotionally charged, concept-driven audio-visual work.
His 3D / AV Live shows combine intricate electronic compositions with multi-layered projections, semi-transparent screens and sculptural light, surrounding the audience in a three-dimensional field of colour, geometry and narrative. Recent presentations of his 3D / AV work have been described as “a journey like no other” and “a unique audio-visual experience” by leading arts venues in Europe.
Drawing on themes of humanity, nature, data and the infinite, Cooper’s performances invite audiences to lose themselves in meditative ambience, soaring melodies and powerful club rhythms while vast visual worlds shift and unfold all around them. As one reviewer put it, his 3D / AV show is “a sublime mix of cutting-edge electro spliced seamlessly with overwhelming visuals,” delivering “on every level.”
