Moon Masquerade Ball: Dover Celestial Celebration
About this Event
Supported in part by The Dover Arts Commission.
Free mask-decorating sessions will be held at Henry Law Park on August 7 from 6:30-8:30pm, in the gallery on August 15 from 12:30-3pm, and at the Children’s Museum on August 18 from 9:30-11:30am with museum entry. At these sessions we will provide both traditional and unconventional materials for mask making.
We encourage you to create wearable artworks inspired by the moon, stars, zodiac signs, or personal stories of transformation. The project celebrates a simple but powerful idea: throughout Dover’s history, generations of people have lived, worked, gathered, and dreamed beneath the same moon.
On the event night, desserts will be served, and drinks will be available by donation. We will have a vote for the most original mask, the most colorful, and the most unconventional! We will do kids' awards as well.
