Moon Landing Anniversary! With Live Score by B.MEZ!
At Epsilon Spires, b.mez quartet will reunite to celebrate, musically and improvisationally, the anniversary of the first Moon landing on July 20, 1969, along with projected NASA video of that historic event.
An offshoot of the modern chamber-rock ensemble Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, b.mez began as an occasional electro-acoustic and loop-based session by Birdsongs members Michael Bierylo, Ken Field, and Rick Scott at a small venue in Cambridge, MA. Joined each time by a different guest musician, the results were quite varied, with the core members adapting to the voice their guest brought to the musical conversation. The core trio had the opportunity to record for two intensive days at Hearstudios in Maine with guest Roger Miller, a founding member of Birdsongs. Material from those studio sessions were released by Cuneiform Records in early 2026 under the title "Under Circuitous Skies."
"Scorchingly beautiful... moving and interesting... I can only give this my highest recommendation." - Peter Thelen, expose.org
"A brave album...exotic, charming, with imperceptible lines and intoxicating iconography, orchestrated by four wonderful musicians who never fit into molds." - Antonis Kalamoutsos, rocking.gr (Greece)
