The Empyreans is an evolving ambient ensemble founded in 2022 by multi-instrumentalist and performance artist Craig Douglas. Conceived as a gathering place for like-minded ambient musicians, experimentalists, and sonic explorers, the project was originally created to perform live scores over obscure and forgotten films at Epsilon Spires in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Blending immersive atmospheres, improvisation, texture, and cinematic sound design, The Empyreans exists in the space between soundtrack and ritual, inviting audiences into a world where sound becomes narrative and time seems to dissolve. Each performance is unique, shaped by the distinct voices and creative instincts of the artists involved.
