'Mood States' by Annabel Merret

Annabel Merret is a London-based artist with a mission to demonstrate that mental health problems do not need to be frightening or lonely. Merrett’s work is based on observations and experiences of mental ill health, and presents this charged topic digestibly. Her sculpture is compelling, arresting and even pleasing: it draws the viewer in, encouraging them to safely reflect on themselves. Recent exhibitions have included The Royal College of Psychiatrists, Bethlem Museum of the Mind and The Gordon Museum of Pathology.

Join us at Barts Pathology Museum for an hour-long session to view the sculptures - and the museum - during Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 (11th to 17th May). Tickets are free for your chosen hour-long slot on either the 13th or 14th of May, but they must be booked in advance.

This event is Supported by the Queen Mary Centre for Public Engagement, and is in association with QMUL's Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Barts Pathology Museum is on the 3rd floor of the Robin Brook Centre, accessible via the lift, but please note there are 7 non-accessible steps into the museum itself, so it's not suitable for everyone.
