About this Event

The first Wednesday of each month, the NYC POC Healing Circle will be facilitating monthly Reiki meditations at CTHQ. During the last few months of the year the veil is thin, meaning it is easier for us to commune, converse, and engage with our Ancestors. Join Savannah Schmidt, who will guide folx in connecting with the Ancestors of their lineages, whether they be blood or chosen. Using gentle movement, Usui Reiki, and guided writing prompts, Savannah invites Community to recognize and acknowledge that we are just links in the chain of our lineages. What can we learn from and share with our Ancestors?

The NYC People of Color Healing Circle is a collective of queer and transgender community healing practitioners who provide care to BIPOC communities, particularly to activists, to sustain our movements for social change. All practitioners are certified reiki practitioners at the highest level. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Many in the circle combine their reiki practice with cultural land, sound, and movement practices. Healing renews us to practice the liberated reality we all deserve.
