Monday Afternoon Playgroup - Infant Senses Exploration

During this activity, the resource center will provide infants and toddlers with opportunities to explore sensory play! Our resource room will be filled with simple activities that engage all senses and encourage sensory exploration.

Engaging in sensory play promotes brain growth, fine motor skills, and cognitive curiosity.

This is also a great opportunity to meet other parents and caregivers with children around the same age!

Who can participate: Parents and caregivers with children 2 to 24 months.

When: September 28th, 1:30pm-3:30pm.

Where: 333 Churchill Avenue North, Ottawa.This event will take place at the resource centre of Children’s Village of Ottawa-Carleton, located at the back of the building.

You can access this entrance on foot through the employee parking lot.

What to expect:

• A variety of infant-friendly sensory play
• Safe finger painting
• Drop-in playgroups toys available
• Songs circle time

Schedule:

1:30-3:30 pm - Free play. Children are invited to engage in the activities set up. Along with the sensory play activities, our infant drop-in toys will also be open for play.

2:30 - songs and simple stories

3:30 pm - closing. Time to go home! Thanks for coming :)

Parents and caregivers will have refreshments and treats :)

What to bring: Please dress your child in clothes you would not mind getting messy. Please bring extra clothes, diapers, and snacks.

Few notes:

*Don’t worry if you arrive a little later or need to leave early. We want everyone to feel comfortable and to participate at their own pace. Make sure to register to save your spot!

*Parking note: Please note that we have no parking on site. You can find free 3-hour parking on nearby streets such as Wilmont Ave, Whitby Ave, or Madison Ave, or paid 2-hour parking along Churchill Avenue.

If you come walking, stroller parking is available at the back by the entrance door.
