Join us for a gentle morning of Art and Qi Gong to relax your body and mind in nature!
About this Event

In an intimate group setting of max 8 people, we will combine drawing, meditation and movement to help you unwind and find mindfulness through creativity, inspired by the natural surroundings.

Alternating between drawing and movements, we will explore the mind-body relation together. There will be gentle and beginner-friendly Qi Gong movements to relax your body and mind, along with drawing exercises to work on your observation and connect with your inner creative self.

Whether you're looking to unwind, reconnect with yourself, or simply spend time outdoors in a welcoming community, this workshop offers a space to move, create, and be present.

The session will be held in a public park (George Wainborn), and the drawings will be from observations of surroundings and nature. No previous experience in Qi Gong or art is required; the only requirement is your curiosity and openness.

*Note about the drawing exercises: This is not a workshop to learn how to draw realistically. We will focus on your experience rather than your drawing skills. There won’t be any evaluations on the quality or skillfulness of the drawings. This is an opportunity to observe and enjoy the process rather than focus on the outcome.

This will be our second workshop in this combined format, but we are still offering introductory pricing with up to 40% discount!

Introductory Price: $35 (regular price $50)

Early bird: $30

Please bring a water bottle, dress comfortably for the weather, and feel free to bring a yoga mat or blanket, and a picnic chair (if you wish to meditate and draw on a chair) for added comfort! Also please bring your notebook and your favorite drawing materials, I usually prefer pencils, but feel free to bring and use your preferred supplies (markers, pens, colored pencils, etc). We will bring some extra pencils and paper too just in case anyone needs them.

Weather Policy:

In case of light manageable rain we will still proceed with the event, but if we get unlucky and there is heavy rain, we will reschedule the event and refund those who can't make the new date/time.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

A little bit about us:

The artist: Saghar

MA Fine Art from the University of the Arts London. My main teaching focus is on loosening the grip of the mind on creativity by designing tailored ways and exercises that work best for each group or individual. I believe the main pillar of Art is observation, and drawing in its purest form is nothing but sheer observation. That’s why I’ve decided to focus on drawing exercises for these workshops.

The Qi Gong instructor: Ehsan Ashrafi

I have been practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong for 15 years. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching these ancient mind-body arts as an instructor.

In my teaching practice, the goal is to bring the three essential elements of breath, body, and mind into harmony. We begin by learning diaphragmatic (abdominal) breathing. The next step is to coordinate the breath with simple Qigong movements. As the students advance in my classes, through specific methods and practices, they learn to integrate the mind with both breathing and movement. I invite you to join me on this journey and experience the many benefits of these ancient healing arts.
