This drum is magical! The drum beats with the jingles are so much fun to play, and I'd love to show you how. I learned from Layne Redmond and several of her students who were my teachers over the years.
**This is Middle Eastern style playing of the tambourine, not the type you see in rock bands.**
There is more than meets the eye to this seemingly simple instrument. In this series, we will be focusing on tambourine playing fundamentals to give you a strong foundation to continue on in your studies. You will learn proper technique, basic strokes, and simple rhythms, in a non-judgemental, fun and supportive environment. This may just become your favorite instrument!
I have seven drums to share so this class will be limited to 8 students, unless you have your own tambourine. It's a headed frame drum with 2 rows of zills or jingles.
This class will run for 5 weeks and registration is through Roanoke Parks & Recreation. I will post the link as soon as it is ready.
