Mid-Michigan Spartans - MSU's Childhood Development Lab Tour
About this Event
Located in the old East Lansing Central School on Grand River, MSU's Child Development Laboratory offers programming to children from birth to five years of age using MSU Children's Curriculum.
As their website states, the overall education purpose of the CDL is to provide rich and varied educational experiences for young children, so that children can feel challenged, successful, confident, creative and capable.
Researchers connected to a variety of disciplines work with the CDL to observe classroom behaviors and techniques, to design new learning and motor development activities, to practice skills learned in a class, to gain experience in a credentialed early childhood environment, and more.
We've selected a morning tour to ensure you see active classrooms. Participants will spend time in observation rooms for the first 30 minutes of the experience and then have time with CDL leadership to learn about the purpose of the CDL, the other CDL locations, how the CDL is funded, and ways the community can help the CDL.
Parking: There is a large lot for the CDL behind the building off of Hillcrest Road. There are a few accessible spaces in the circle drive behind the school.

As with all Mid-Michigan Spartans events, an additional ticket option is available for those who wish to make a donation to support the operations of our club. The donation ticket is NOT a ticket to the event. If you wish to do both, make sure to select a general admission ticket and a donation ticket. We appreciate the generosity of those whose past contributions have allowed us to keep our programming inclusive and accessible.
