Join us for a comprehensive, full-day Mental Health Crisis Training (MHCT) hosted by Tangible Movement, designed to equip attendees with the skills and tools needed to effectively support individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This interactive workshop features sessions led by licensed professionals and individuals with lived experience, providing unique insights and practical strategies.
Agenda Highlights:
- Welcome & Overview (8:30 AM - 8:35 AM): Introduction by Torri Shack & Sara Clow
- Mental Health Issues (8:35 AM - 9:45 AM): Discussion on key mental health conditions and intervention strategies. (Speaker: April Lang-Barroga, LMFT, LCADC-S, CPGC-S, NCC. Executive Director, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems of Reno)
- Mental Health in the LGBTQ+ Community (9:45 AM - 10:30 AM): Addressing unique mental health challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. (Speaker: Torri Shack, CEO/ Founder, Tangible Movement )

- Working with 988 (11:45 AM - 12:15 PM): Understanding the role and resources of the 988 crisis line. (Speaker: Alana Pitman, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Crisis Support Services of Nevada. )

- Reno MOST Team Presentation (3:45 PM - 4:15 PM): Insights into the Reno Mobile Outreach Safety Team (MOST) and its crisis intervention work. (Speaker: Christy Butler LCPC, LCADC. Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Mobile Outreach Safety Team, Reno Police Department)
- Closing Remarks & Certificates (4:15 PM): Wrap-up, evaluations, and distribution of CEU certificates
