Melbourne Makers’ Market is a new monthly celebration of local creativity, craftsmanship and independent enterprise, launching in the newly revitalised City Square in the heart of Melbourne.
Presented by the team behind the Rose Street Artists’ Market, the Melbourne Makers’ Market will bring together a curated collection of Melbourne’s finest makers, artists, designers, creatives and small businesses, creating a vibrant destination where visitors can discover, meet and buy directly from the people who make the products.
Launching on Saturday 19 September 2026, the inaugural market will transform City Square into a lively showcase of Melbourne-made creativity, featuring a diverse range of handmade art, design, homewares, jewellery, fashion, ceramics, prints, and other unique products.
The market has been created around a simple idea: Where Melbourne Makes. It celebrates the people, ideas and craftsmanship that make Melbourne one of Australia’s most creative cities.
More than simply a marketplace, Melbourne Makers’ Market will activate City Square as a welcoming public space for cultural exchange, community connection and creative expression. Visitors will be encouraged to browse, shop, meet the makers and experience the square as a destination for creativity and culture.
The launch will mark the beginning of an ongoing program of monthly market activations, supporting local makers while contributing to the continued revitalisation and cultural life of Melbourne’s city centre.
