About this Event
Step inside the creative heart of State Library Victoria with Open Studio. This new series offers a window into evolving work from the communities of SLV LAB, StartSpace and the Library’s Fellowship Program.
Across four lunchtime sessions, you’ll hear directly from researchers, Library Fellows, artists, entrepreneurs and innovators as they share projects in progress—unfinished, experimental and full of possibility. Designed to be informal and interactive, these sessions give you the chance to see ideas taking shape, spark conversations and discover how the Library is a living site of creation, research and innovation.
Tuesday 21 October: Minds at Work presented by StartSpace entrepreneur and founder, Bethan Gee. Bethan is a neurodiversity and ADHD career coach, organisational trainer and keynote speaker, developing research and practice on creating more neuro-inclusive workplaces and decision-making.
Tuesday 28 October: The Great Reclamation - A Speculative Archive of Climate Futures presented by SLV Fellows and co-founders of SUPERSCALE, Vei Tan and Dr Patrick Macasaet. Hear about their research into an interactive open-world digital environment that reimagines the Library in a climate-altered future.
Tuesday 11 November: Join StartSpace entrepreneur and founder, Liam O'Leary, as they delve into the topic of sleep health in the first half of the session. Followed by StartSpace entrepreneur and founder, Anand Maran, who will explore the idea and effects of research technology.
Tuesday 25 November: Library Fellows, Jo and Mei, will provide a behind-the-scenes insight into their research on childhood development.
