Her new book, Only You: The Unexpected Gift of Being Alone, arrives at a critical moment. The World Health Organization declared loneliness a global public health priority in 2025, with approximately one in six people worldwide reporting feelings of loneliness. Yet Dr Lishman argues that society's rush to fix single status may be making things worse.
Dr Marny Lishman is a Doctor of Psychology, therapist, mindset coach, keynote speaker and regular media commentator on mental health topics. She appears on Today Extra, Sunrise and Nine News Perth and has been a columnist for Body + Soul and The Sunday Times. She is also the author of Burnout to Brilliant and Crisis to Contentment.
