How to spot, identify pollinator insects at Forest Farm country park
About this Event

Get ready to sharpen your observation skills and discover the pollinators of our local meadows with Cardiff Local Nature Partnership.

This workshop is for you if you are interested in:

· Identifying the pollinators you encounter regularly.

· Learning about their food and shelter requirements.

· Contributing to pollinator data that inform our actions to conserve, protect, and enhance them.

Join us for an insect walk, where we’ll try and identify all the insects we find and, in the process, learn the defining characteristics of these different species groups found in our city.

Following the insect walk, for those interested we will learn how to survey and collect data on pollinators and the flowers they visit using the simple FIT count method by UK PoMS (for more information: FIT Counts: help us monitor pollinators | PoMS (ukpoms.org.uk)).

This event is part of our Meadow Guardian volunteer scheme which i s open to all. Our Meadow Guardian events will provide volunteers with the skills and confidence to monitor our grassland sites
