Matariki @ 125 Queen
About this Event
WORKX, in partnership with 125 Queen Street, invites you to celebrate Matariki at an artist showcase featuring local Māori creatives. Enjoy sweeping views across the Waitematā Harbour from Level 26 of the QBE Centre, as you connect with industry peers from across the property and built environment sectors.
Sharing with us is Huriana Koepeke-Te Aho, a notable Māori artist who's works have featured in spaces across Tamaki Makaurau and the country, by which two artworks have been commissioned to celebrate Matariki. One of these will feature on the properties iconic Queen St billboard, adding to the city centres Matariki celebrations, while the other will be installed in the lobby of the nearby ANZ Centre. On the day, projections of both works will be displayed in the space for you to enjoy as Huriana takes us through an artists talk explaining the vision, and their connection to the meaning and legend of Matariki.
Joshua Holmberg, Placemaking Manager for CBRE Property Management, will share his insights on the changing relationship between landlord and tenant driven by post-Covid shifts in workplace habits and increasing focuses on ESG, as well as a little on the recent history of the property whose owners have keenly supported a management style beyond that of the typical "brick and mortar" offering of the past. As Placemaking Manager, Joshua is responsible for the properties Placemaking strategy, including such activations as the commissioning of this artwork.
Food and drinks is kindly sponsored by 125 Queen.
