About this Event
This workshop invites participants into an afternoon of playful transformation through drawing, collage and performance.
Beginning with simple portrait sketches, we will move into character design using mixed media, layering marks, textures and fragments to create new identities. Newspapers and style magazines will be cut, torn and re‐assembled, allowing participants to vandalize familiar images and reimagine them as masks, costumes or symbolic extensions of the self.
The process is hands‐on and experimental: drawing merges with collage, surfaces become layered, and photography is introduced to capture each stage of becoming. Participants are encouraged to explore freely, without pressure for polished results, focusing instead on joy, curiosity and invention.
The session culminates in an optional moment of activation, where those who wish can step into their newly created persona and perform a brief gesture, movement or pose. This collective sharing celebrates transformation, humour and imagination, while also honouring the individuality of each participant’s creation.
Designed for all abilities, the workshop offers a safe, inclusive space to experiment, connect and play. It is both a creative laboratory and a ritual of becoming — an invitation to step outside the everyday and embody something new.
