Kick off your week with good vibes and positive energy to set the tone for an awesome Monday and week ahead!
About this Event

Begin your week with intention, connection, and the transformative vibration of mantra.

Join us at Alexandria for Mantra Mondays, a gentle group practice designed to help you quiet the mind, open the heart, and consciously set the tone for the week ahead.

We’ll begin with light, mindful movement to settle into the body and release the energy of the day. From there, you’ll be invited to reflect on and set a personal intention for the week ahead.

Together, we will then move into the heart of our practice: chanting the sacred mantra OM 108 times as a group.

OM is traditionally regarded as a primordial sacred sound—a vibration representing wholeness and the underlying unity of existence. Rather than focusing on perfect pitch or performance, we’ll allow our individual voices to blend into a shared field of sound, rhythm, and presence.

There is something uniquely powerful about chanting in community. As voices begin to synchronize, the practice can become deeply meditative, creating a sense of connection both within ourselves and with those around us.

We’ll conclude with a few moments of silence, allowing the vibration of the mantra and the intention we have created to settle within.

Our Practice Will Include
  • Gentle movement and grounding
  • Breath and centering
  • Intention setting for the week ahead
  • A brief introduction to the mantra and its meaning
  • Group chanting of OM 108 times
  • Quiet integration and closing reflection

Why 108?

The number 108 holds sacred significance within Hindu, Buddhist, and yogic traditions and is traditionally reflected in the 108 beads of a mala. Repeating a mantra 108 times provides enough repetition for the thinking mind to gradually soften and for chanting to become a meditative experience.

No Experience Necessary

You do not need to be a singer, meditator, or experienced mantra practitioner. Simply bring yourself, your breath, your voice, and an openness to the experience.

Come as you are and begin your week in sacred sound, shared intention, and community.

All voices are welcome.
