Build community, learn about food justice, and celebrate the humanizing legacy of Nelson Mandela through participanting in International Mandela Day 2026.
Kuluntu Bakery is a South African inspired bakery with a mission to co-create a more equitable food system. Our community invites you to our inaugural Mandela Day Community Potluck Dinner on July 17 from 7-9 pm.
This year's theme is: #ItsInYourHands - make our world a better one for all.
Community members are asked to bring and share food that reflects the richness of their being and an openess to joy and connection. We will share food, stories, and engage in moments of reflection on community and justice.
Dr. Warren Leichtle-Chalklen, a South African who lives in Oak Cliff, will deliver a short lecture on Mandela Day and its significance to our current context and struggles for justice.
