Make Your Own Journal

In this two-hour session you will:

• Learn bookbinding techniques
• Make a hardback journal
• Adorn your journal with crochet

Alexandra will guide you through making a hardback journal from scratch using gorgeous repurposed fabric, and paper suitable for all mediums. You will learn how to make signatures, bind them together, secure them to your notebook and create a cover. Becca will teach you embroidery and crochet techniques to customise your journal with textile elements. All tools and materials are supplied.

By the end of the session you will have a personalised notebook that you can take away with you and use for whatever creative hobby you wish.

Your hosts are artist and writer Alexandra from Solemniko, who specialises in luxury handmade stationery, and fibre artist and tutor Becca from To Be Adorned.

We'll have a dedicated workshop space in the South Coast Makers Store (where Sports Direct used to be). The venue is easy to locate on the first floor in The Avenue shopping arcade in Bournemouth town centre, accessible by lift or stairs. Refreshments are available from the lovely Spill The Beans Cafe on site and you get a special discount as a workshop attendee!

This workshop is not suitable for children under 12 years old. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
