WHAT'S PLANTED PATHWAYS?
Planted Pathways is a weekly meet-up exploring the plants that grow all around us - especially those that are often overlooked! Through relaxed walks around Great Yarmouth and gentle crafting sessions at the Wastesmiths workshop, we'll look at wild-growing plants in our area and learn about them over a cuppa and a chat.
This week, we'll be meeting at the Wastesmiths workshop on Estcourt Road. Every week, we look at and work with plants that grow around Great Yarmouth, including...
- edible plants that can be used in cooking or for medicinal purposes
- colourful plants used to make pigments - creating dyes and inks
- plants used in textile-making and other crafts, like felting or weaving
- plants with interesting histories, local meanings, stories, and folklore.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Planted Pathways is for people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds - the only requirement is that you're interested in plants, creativity, community, drinking tea or coffee, and having a chat!
You might already have some plant-related knowledge, e.g. experience of foraging or growing or other plant-related crafts, or you might have none at all. Everyone is welcome - whether you’re a seasoned horticulturalist or a newbie plant enthusiast, we’d love you to join us.
These sessions are aimed at adults, but under-18s are welcome to come along if they are accompanied by an adult. Small children/babies are very welcome to be with us too.
Planted Pathways is FREE to join, but you are welcome to make a donation to support our running costs if you would like to.
As sessions are likely to involve some walking through different areas, they may not always be suitable for those with very limited mobility. If you would like to join us but this is a concern for you, please get in touch and we will do our very best to adjust our sessions for your needs. WHAT TO BRING
Just yourself! All the materials and equipment for the activities will provided, so you don't need to bring anything with you to join in. We will provide a hot drink as part of the session and you are welcome to bring your own reusable cup.

GETTING TO US
We will be meeting at Wastesmiths CIC, 18 Estcourt Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 4JQ. If you're driving, there is some free parking available on adjacent roads. There are also bike racks on site if you are cycling to join us. If you are travelling by public transport, the Wastesmiths workshop is a 15-minute walk from Market Gates bus station and a 16-minute walk or 6-minute cycle ride from Great Yarmouth train station.

ACCESS INFO
The Wastesmiths building is not wheelchair accessible at present, but please do get in touch if you'd like to join us and this would prevent you from doing so, and we will make arrangements to gather elsewhere!
Also, as we will be providing refreshments for these sessions, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies that we need to be aware of.
Carers and support workers are very welcome to join us!
