Step into the studio and bring your favorite characters to life! Welcome to the Maid 2 D.I.Y. Adult Cosplay & Costume Design Workshop, an immersive, hands-on creative series hosted at our permanent home studio located at 701 N Main St in Wake Forest, NC.Designed specifically for makers, cosplayers, and aspiring costume designers ages 18 and older, this specialized workshop bridges the gap between fan imagination and real-world execution. Over the course of 3 dynamic sessions (December 12th, December 19th, and January 2nd), participants dive deep into the foundations of costume construction, machine sewing, pattern drafting, and prop-smithing.Choose Your Specialty Track:Participants will be able to choose either a Sewing/Costume Track or a Prop Focus Track! A Google Form will be sent to you within 24 hours of sign-up so we can collect your track preference and material needs.What You Will Experience & Learn:Machine Sewing & Garment Construction: Master the operation of professional studio sewing machines and sergers, learning proper stitch techniques, hemming, seam finishes, and garment assembly (for the Sewing Track).Pattern Drafting & Draping: Learn how flat patterns translate into 3D builds by working directly with our exclusive custom studio practice mannequins, giving you a professional-grade platform to pin, alter, and draft your own designs.Prop-Smithing & Finishing Foundations: Explore the core techniques behind bringing character props, accessories, and design details together safely and cleanly (for the Prop Track).All-Inclusive Studio Access: Registration covers full access to all professional studio tools, cutting equipment, irons, and practice mannequins during every class session.
