Join us on Sunday July, 26 at 12:00pm for a Magic: the Gathering Modern tournament at Diversions Puzzles & Games – Portsmouth!

Registration & check-in begins in-store one hour before the event begins. Entry is $10.00 per person. Store credit cannot be used to pay for registration. This event will cap at 16 players.
Players can reserve a spot for the tournament through the Magic Companion App. Lobby code: J2X6DP5
>>Tournament Format<<
This is a Swiss-style tournament, played in Best-of-3 format. Each round is 60-minutes in length. The number of rounds in the tournament will depend on the number of attendees. There will be no top cut. This event will cap at 16 players.
4-8 players: 3 rounds
9-16 players: 4 rounds
>>Modern Format<<
Modern is a constructed format. The game is played with a main deck with a minimum of 60 cards, and a sideboard of up to 15 cards.
With the exception of basic lands, your combined deck and sideboard may not contain more than four copies of any individual card.
Games are played 1v1 and take around 20 minutes.
Cards printed from 8th edition and forward (or have the modern card frame) are legal, with the exception of officially banned cards. The list of banned cards can be found here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/banned-restricted-list
**Prizing**
Store credit prizing will be awarded for this event to top players by standing. Below is the prizing for a full event of 16 players. Prizing will scale down with fewer players.
1st: $40.00
2nd: $30.00
3rd - 4th: $20.00
5th - 8th: $10.00
Metered parking is available in the Worth Lot behind the store, Bridge Street Lot, Foundry Garage, or Hanover Garage.
