About this Event
Join us on a Wild Walk to celebrate the Autumn Equinox in Brockwell Park. This will be an informal gathering and wander looking for signs of autumn, sharing stories, things we notice and ways to celebrate the new season, including marking the Celtic Wheel of the Year festival, Mabon.
Wild Walks are free events that encourage people to get outside and explore local green spaces. We’ll walk for between one and two hours, depending on how everyone feels, stopping along the way to talk about what we’ve seen and get to know each other better. These are not guided walks, but someone from Wild South London will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on the day and we encourage walk attendees to share knowledge along the way.
About us
Wild South London is a community group which aims to raise awareness of local biodiversity and promote conservation and appreciation of nature. Through walks, talks and hands-on workshops, the group will educate and inspire local people on topics such as sustainable foraging and identification of plants, animals and fungi. They will also show people how to record finds to contribute to local biodiversity data - all while promoting the positive health and wellbeing impacts of engaging with nature.
Aims of Wild Walks:
- To introduce people to green spaces in South London
- To promote the health and wellbeing benefits of interacting with nature
- To help people meet other like-minded individuals and learn from one another
