Join Tonje for 2h of yoga + ceremony in celebration of the Mabon / The Autumn Equinox Friday, September 20th, at 7.00 PM.
The moment the sun enters the cardinal sign of Libra, we have the Autumn Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere (Exact September 22nd at 2.43 PM).
Marking the midpoint between Litha, the summer solstice, and Yule, the winter solstice, the Mabon / The Autumn Equinox is creating a powerful energy portal for transformation and growth. At this moment in time, day and night are of equal length. It is as if the earth pauses for a moment in complete equilibrium before it continues its journey towards longer nights.
But Mabon - also known as the second harvest - is also a time of gratitude. A time to give thanks for what the earth has provided for us, as well as a time to prepare for the dark winter ahead.
The equinox is further marked by the sun’s transit into Libra, and the astrological sign of Libra carries a similar energy to the equinox. Symbolized by the balancing scales, Libra is here to remind us to breathe, reconnect and regain our inner balance as well. Libra urges us to let go of that which doesn’t serve us—that which tips our scales out of balance—and learn to love and embrace a more light-hearted approach to life.
Last but not least, as we officially step into the darker, more introspective half of the year, plants and trees wither and die, their attention going to their roots, and the healing, nourishing energy of the earth, we are reminded to do the same: to slow down and tend to our own roots.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT:
Through the hour we will be channeling the balancing qualities of the Equinox, we will give our gratitude and thanks to Mother Earth, nourishing our soul with the heart opening cacao, and we will tune into our own needs, making a commitment to nourish our own roots through the winter.
Our movement will be introspective, slow and deep, as we dive inwards through yin poses, meditation, mantra, mudra and breathwork.
Through journaling and divination we will reflect on the past, give our thanks, and uproot anything that doesn’t serve us, finding back to our inner equilibrium and help us mentally prepare for the dark season ahead.
