Join us for a lunchtime concert with the soothing sounds of the French horn with piano
About this Event

Enjoy this celebration of the rich mellow sounds of the French horn, interwoven with piano.

Kaishun Ypsilantis, collaborative piano (recent graduate of the RCM) performs with Isabella Ward Ackland, French horn.

From showy fanfare to haunting melody, from call to action to the deepest emotional expression and tender lyricism, this programme showcases the beautiful range of the horn, entwined with piano harmonies.

Isabella and Kaishun play a programme of exquisite music from the C19th and C20th:

Beethoven – Sonata for Horn and Piano in F major, Op. 17 (c. 15’)

Poulenc – Élégie, FP 168 (c. 10’)

Jane Vignery – Sonata for Horn and Piano, Op. 7 (c. 18’)

This concert continues our partnership with the Royal College of Music, showcasing outstanding their students and recent graduates, as part of St Margaret's and Westminster Abbey's support for young musicians.
