We will visit the wonderful installation by Mohammed Z Rahman, a British-Bengali artist based in London. With a background in social anthropology, Rahman's makes theatrical installations combining painting, sculpture and furniture, and concerned with migration, cultural hybridity, labour, queerness and class. We will also look at some other paintings at Tate Britain on the theme of migration: Lubaina Himid, Mohammed Sami and Alberta Whittle, amongst others.

Who is it for?

This session is for anyone who wants to engage with art in a slower, more reflective way. Whether you visit galleries regularly or rarely, you are equally welcome. It is especially for people who are drawn to themes of migration, belonging, and cultural identity, and who want a shared, unhurried space to explore what those themes bring up. You do not need any knowledge of art or art history to take part.

What to expect?

This is slow looking with conversation. You will be gently guided to notice what draws your attention, share what you see, and connect with others around the themes the artworks open up. The pace is unhurried. The atmosphere is open and welcoming.
