Lunch & Learn: Black Music w/The Kingston Library
About this Event
June is Black Music month! Each week we look at the historical background and cultural impact of significant musical genres; blues, jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop. Together we’ll discuss how the music was both influenced by events of the time, and influential in shaping the future....all while enjoying a meal graciously provided by the People’s Place Cafe.
On Thursdays, stop at the People’s Place Café first (777 Broadway) to pick up your meal at noon, and then we'll head to the Wellness & Empowerment Center next door (775 Broadway). Please note that the Center is now also accessible by a lift.
Pick up a packet of readings ahead of time at either location.
