The 4th Annual Heartland Book Festival kicks off on Friday, October 2, at the Woodneath Library Center with best-selling author Tayari Jones speaking about her latest novel.
Jones is the author of five novels; her most recent work, Kin, explores the connections between mothers and daughters, friendship and sisterhood, and the complexities of being a woman in the American South. An Oprah’s Book Club Selection, it's been named by The New York Times and Amazon as the best novel of the year so far. Jones is also on TIME's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
While seating in the main auditorium is full, you can join a livecast of Jones's conversation in the Woodneath Library Center’s Community Hall. Located adjacent to the auditorium, attendees will hear and watch the full presentation.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Author talk begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a book signing. Additional titles by the author will be available for purchase at the event.
Admission is free, but tickets are required.
