Kelsyn Rooks brings Kansas City's favorite curated listening show, Listyn KC, as a fundraiser for the Center For Recorded Music at our new home in Leawood, The Listyning Room.
Kelsyn will showcase new releases, revisit old favorite Listyn KC shows, or take you on deep dives into the C4RM record vaults. Listen to curated selections of music and fun facts related to the featured album. Then enjoy the entire album played on our world-class stereo systems! Doors open at 6:00 pm.
Let's "Listyn" to Michael Jackson's Off The Wall
Come celebrate the 45th Anniversary of this amazing album, and pay tribute to legendary artist, composer, songwriter, and producer Quincy Jones.
Off the Wall was Michael Jackson's 5th studio album, released on August 10, 1979, by Epic Records. It was Jackson's first album released through Epic Records, and the first produced by Quincy Jones, whom he met while working on the 1978 film The Wiz.
Off the Wall was crafted from disco, pop, funk, R&B, soft rock and Broadway ballads. It features songwriting contributions from Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Rod Temperton, Tom Bahler, and David Foster, alongside three tracks penned by Jackson himself.
$25 Donations for this event go to support Center For Recorded Music 501(c)(3) and our mission and includes admission to The Listyning Room and complimentary beverages and light snacks. Beverage selection includes soft drinks, flavored waters, beer, wine, mixed drinks, and NA versions of your favorites.
There are 40 seats at The Listyning Room and seating is on a first-come first-seated basis. Due to the popularity of Listyn KC events, we expect a full house. Donate in advance to secure a spot for these exclusive events. If any spots are left open, donations will be accepted at the door. This page will be updated to indicate if all reservations are taken.
