About this Event
About This Event
Ever watched someone power clean or snatch and thought "how do they do that"?
This is how.
Lift Off is your low-pressure, high-fun intro to two of the most athletic barbell movements — the power clean and the snatch — coached in our 1,500 sq ft Calgary HQ. In 90 minutes, you'll learn the fundamentals of each lift through progressive drills, then put it all together in a short, beginner-friendly workout.
No Olympic lifting experience required. If you can squat and deadlift, you're ready.
Meet Your Coach
You'll be learning from Mo Youssef, head coach at Bells of Steel. Mo has coached in four leading gyms in Calgary and holds a National Certificate in Strength & Conditioning. He has trained under Olympic champion Mohamed Ehab and his coaching background spans a wide range of populations and training environments, from high-energy group classes to fully customized one-on-one personal training. If you've ever felt intimidated by Olympic lifting, Mo is the person you want in your corner.
What You'll Learn
- Power clean technique — from the floor to the rack position
- Snatch fundamentals — grip, pull, and overhead catch
- Progressive drills to build each movement step by step
- Bracing, timing, and movement cues you can take to any gym
Who This Is For
