Tahlequah Public Library is pleased to announce that thanks to a generous grant from Oklahoma Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities, we are hosting a "Let's Talk About It" discussion program!
Join us each month as experts guide us through each text and we discuss themes, historical context and revelations about the authors lives.
THEME: Oklahoma Private Investigations
The best crime and mystery novels are situated in “place.” As you will see from these varied plots, mystery and investigation stories find a ready home in Oklahoma and provide a window on the character of the state.
Program Scholar: Shaun Perkins
Shaun Perkins is the founder/director of the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry in Locust Grove. A teaching artist with the Oklahoma Arts Council, she is also a poet, storyteller, podcast co-host, and workshop presenter. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from OSU and a master’s degree in liberal studies from OU. She has conducted workshops and presentations at the regional and national levels with such organizations as the National Storytelling Network, National Association for Poetry Therapy, National Council for Teachers of English, and many more. She has written a variety of books, her latest being Cocktails, Coquettes and Cigarettes: Perry Mason Concoctions. You can learn more about her at PoemLife.org.
